Your Winchester Handyman. Quality Work, Honest Pricing

Hey, I’m Joel. I run Briggs Handyman out of Murrieta, a straight shot up Winchester Road, so this is an area I’m in all the time. If you’ve got a running list of things that need doing around the house or the property, that’s exactly what I’m here for.

I spent years on residential and commercial jobs before I moved into full-service handyman work. That background means I approach every job the same way: figure out what’s actually needed, do it right the first time, and tell you upfront what it’ll cost. No surprises on the invoice.

Winchester is changing fast, and I like that about it. There’s the original Winchester — wide-open acreage, ranch and manufactured homes, room to spread out — and there’s the new Winchester going up along the highway, block after block of brand-new homes. I work on both: the fence lines, gates, and outbuildings that come with land, and the setup and repairs that come with a new build. If you’ve got a list that keeps getting pushed to the weekend that never comes, give me a call.

Handyman Services for Winchester Homeowners

Whether you’re on a few acres or in a brand-new build, here’s what I take care of regularly:

Installations Ceiling fan installation, light fixture installation, smart lighting and Lutron-style systems, TV mounting, appliance installation, blind and shade installation, faucet installationfurniture assembly, sprinkler system repair and maintenance.

Repairs and Maintenance Drywall repair, door adjustments and replacements, toilet repair and installation, garbage disposal replacement, fence repair, gate repair, gutter cleaning and repair.

Out on acreage the list gets longer — fence lines, gates, sheds, and outbuildings all need upkeep, and I’m glad to handle it. If it’s something I can’t do, I’ll tell you and point you toward someone who can.

Winchester Neighborhoods I Serve

I cover all of Winchester the 92596 area, from the downtown core out to the rural parcels and the new communities along Winchester Road. A few areas and the kind of work these homes tend to need:

  • Rural acreage & ranch properties — the large lots out toward Grand Avenue and the Diamond Valley Lake side; fence lines, gates, sheds, outbuildings, and exterior upkeep on homes with room to roam.
  • Manufactured & custom homes on land — skirting, steps and decks, exterior repairs, and interior work; I’m comfortable working on manufactured homes, which not every handyman is.
  • New Winchester Road communities — the fresh tracts and gated rental communities like Keller Crossing, Winchester Hills, and Tricon; new-home setup, blinds, fans, TV mounts, and backyard work.
  • Downtown Winchester core — established homes near the community center; the full range of everyday repairs and installs.

I also serve neighboring French Valley, Menifee, Murrieta, and Temecula. Not sure if you’re in my service area? Just call — I’ll let you know.

Why Winchester Homeowners Call Briggs

You get a real price upfront. If you can describe the job and send me a photo, I’ll give you a number before I ever show up. If that isn’t feasible, I’ll get you an estimate that I stick to.

I work alone, and that’s a feature, not a bug. When you book with Briggs, I’m the one who shows up and does the work. You’re not getting a rotating crew of subs. You know exactly who’s coming into your home.

I respect the house. I clean up. I don’t leave a mess. If I move something to do a job, I put it back. Sounds basic, but it’s apparently not that common.

No minimum job size. Some companies have minimum charges of $300 or more. If you have a small repair that’ll take 20 minutes, I’m still happy to come out. Those small jobs are how I build relationships with customers who become regulars.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you serve all of Winchester, CA? Yes — I cover the whole Winchester area in the 92596 ZIP, from the downtown core and the new Winchester Road communities out to the rural acreage. Winchester and French Valley share that ZIP and blur together, and I serve both. I’m also throughout neighboring Menifee, Murrieta, and Temecula.

Do you work on rural acreage and manufactured homes? Yes — that’s a big part of Winchester. On acreage I handle fence lines, driveway and corral gates, sheds, and outbuildings. On manufactured homes I do skirting, steps and decks, exterior repairs, and interior work. It’s the kind of property work I enjoy, and I’m set up for it.

Do you handle new builds in the Winchester Road communities? Absolutely. On a new home I can knock out the whole move-in list — blinds, fans, TV mounts, garage storage — in one trip. (Builder-warranty items should go back to your builder; I handle everything the warranty doesn’t.)

Do you work in gated and new rental communities? Yes. For gated communities and newer rental communities like Tricon, just add me to your guest list or let the office or gate know I’m expected, and I’ll check in like any vendor.

How much do handyman services in Winchester cost? It depends on the job, and I’ll always tell you before I start. Small repairs and single installs typically run $200–$350 depending on complexity. Larger jobs like fence work or a full day of mixed tasks are quoted by scope. I don’t have a high minimum charge — if the job is quick, the price reflects that.

Are you licensed and insured? Briggs Handyman is a licensed local business and fully insured. I’m not a general contractor — California law limits the scope of what an unlicensed contractor can do, and I’m upfront about that. Property work like fencing, gates, and structure repairs I handle; specialized systems like well and septic I don’t, and I’ll point you to the right licensed pro for those.

How soon can you come out? Often same-week, sometimes same-day depending on my schedule. Being right down Winchester Road in Murrieta, this is an easy trip for me. Call or text 916-209-0070 and I’ll give you a real answer on timing.

Do you do work for rental properties or landlords? Yes. Between tenants is a common time — repairs, paint touch-ups, appliance swaps, door hardware, that kind of thing. I can also help with move-out punch lists.
